    Back To School 2009

Once again, it’s time to go “Back to School.”

The Headmaster, Faculty and staff of the Florida Moonshine Academy are pleased to announce that our traditional “Mid-Term Exams and Party” for students will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. November 6, 7 and 8, 2009.

Because of the success of our Tropical Beach Party, and last year’s Back to School party, we have contracted with the same hotel in north Tampa about 20 minutes from Tampa International Airport (TPA) to accommodate our event at extremely reasonable rates for rooms and public areas. Information on the hotel, as well as event prices can be found on our FMInvite list which is open only to full members of Florida Moonshine. Rooms are large and nicely decorated and the public area is roomy and away from the remainder of the hotel, but easily reachable from the private rooms.

Dress on Friday night may be Florida casual. However, because this is an official Academy function, all students will be expected to dress in suitable school uniforms on Saturday night and all Academy staff is also asked to dress appropriately.

While we always expect our pupils to behave in an exemplary manner befitting their appointment to the Academy, we know that situations will arise during the school year that will necessitate corporal punishment. We are aware that students have been in school for almost three months but have possibly forgotten some of the lessons in correct deportment they were taught during the school term. For that reason, we are asking all staff members to equip themselves with a suitable array of paddles, hairbrushes, straps and canes so that each student will continue the school year with a reminder of the consequences of bad behavior and will apply themselves diligently to their mid-term exams.

As this is an official Academy function, all pupils will be expected to behave properly at all times during the events and misbehavior will be dealt with severely by the staff.

    Details

The Friday night event will begin at 7 p.m. and continue until 2 a.m. Snacks will be provided. The hotel dining room will be open for those who want more than light snacks and there is also a nice selection of restaurants close to the hotel. Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages will be available from the lobby bar in the hotel.

The Saturday night event will also start at 7 p.m. and continue until 2 a.m. The school cafeteria will provide one of their traditionally delicious school dinners along with soft drinks and desserts. Eating in the classrooms or staff offices will not be tolerated and the school cafeteria will be supervised by staff members. As is traditional at the Florida Moonshine Academy, the school Matron will be inspecting all pupils’ hands and ears for cleanliness and grooming before they are given their cafeteria tray for dinner.

Pupils who do not pass inspection will be punished appropriately!

Complimentary continental breakfast is provided by the hotel on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. A full cooked breakfast is available in the hotel dining room for $5.95

Those who RSVP by sending in their party fees will be notified of the party location a few days prior to the event. Directions and party rules will be sent at that time.

Remember, all payments must be in our hands by end of day, Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009. Emails or “check’s in the mail” notes will not be considered reservations.

This party is open to all members of Florida Moonshine. To be a member of Florida Moonshine, you must have filled out and submitted an application for membership, which can be found on our web site and have had your membership approved.

Information on how to make a reservation can be found on our FMInviteList Yahoo Group. You must be a member of this list to obtain information on how to make your party and hotel reservations. To be a member of this list, you must be a member of Florida Moonshine.
